Mais uma viagem a trabalho, mas dessa vez eu consegui aproveitar um pouco mais da Inglaterra e conhecer uma cidade nova.

A companhia aérea Flybe faz parte do Flybe Group, um grupo de companhias aéreas de baixo custo com sede no Aeroporto de Exeter, Inglaterra. É a maior companhia aérea regional independente da Europa, operando 180 rotas em 65 aeroportos e 9 países.
Foi a minha primeira vez voando com essa companhia aérea e para falar a verdade eu nem conhecia essa empresa antes mas fiz um vôo bem curto de Dusseldorf, na Alemanha, para Birmingham, na Inglaterra, com duração de 1 hora e 40 minutos.
A maioria dos vôos da FlyBe são feitos por aeronaves Dash 8-400, que foi a que eu viajei, são aeronaves bimotoras turboélice de médio porte, com alcance interestadual e internacional, desenvolvidas para atender às necessidades de companhias aéreas regionais e com capacidade para até 54 passageiros.
Achei essa aeronave muito fofa, uma das mais pequenas que já entrei, apenas dois assentos de cada lado do avião e alguns passageiros estavam com um pouco de medo já que as turboélices começam a funcionar apenas quando a aeronave já esta andando na pista e não como nas aeronaves maiores que as turbinas já são ligadas antes de começar a andar.
Os assentos eram bem confortáveis e espaçosos para uma empresa aérea de baixo custo, mas não havia nenhum entretenimento e as comidas e bebidas eram cobradas extra, como normalmente as empresa de baixo custos fazem. Haviam apenas duas aeromoças que eram mais velhas, porém muito simpáticas, atenciosas e prestativas.
Tivemos um vôo super tranquilo, sem turbulências e com certeza voaria novamente com a Flybe. Acho que o o custo beneficio super valeu a pena.

The airline Flybe is part of the Flybe Group, an Low Cost airline group based at Exeter Airport, England. It is the largest independent regional airline in Europe, operating 180 routes, in 65 airports at 9 countries.
It was my first time flying with this airline and in fact didn’t even know this company before but I had a short flight from Dusseldorf, Germany, to Birmingham, England, with the duration of 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Most of FlyBe flights are made by Dash 8-400 aircraft, which was the one I traveled with, a twin-engine turboprop aircraft of medium size, with interstate and international reach, designed to meet the needs of regional airlines and up to 54 passengers.
This aircraft was very cute, one of the smallest that I have entered, only two seats on each side of the plane and some passengers were a little afraid since the turboprop start functioning only when the aircraft is already walking on the runway and not as the largest aircraft that the turbines are already on before the plane start walking.
The seats were very comfortable and spacious for an Low cost airline, but there was no entertainment and food and drinks were charged extra, like low cost companies usually do. There were only two flight attendants who were a bit older but very friendly and helpful.
We had a very calm flight without turbulence and certainly I would fly again with with Flybe. I think the cost benefit is super worth it.

Tower of London (Torre de Londres)
O Palácio Real e Fortaleza de Sua Majestade, ou como é mais conhecida A Torre de Londres, é um monumento histórico localizado na margem do Rio Tamisa, em frente a Tower Bridge. A Torre de Londres foi construída por William, o Conquistador como uma fortaleza para proteger a cidade. Conhecer a Torre de Londres é conhecer mais de 900 anos de história, pois além de Fortaleza essa construção já foi usada como palácio, prisão, arsenal e hoje guarda as famosas jóias da Coroa Britânica. Sua história foi marcada por coroações de monarcas e por assassinatos, de tesouros reais até armaduras e arsenais.
A forma mais fácil para chegar na Torre de Londres é pelo metrô da Tower Hill. A entrada custo 22 libras para adultos e 11 libras para crianças. Você pode comprar online com desconto no site da Torre de Londres.
Westminster Abbey – Abadia de Westminster
A Westminster Abbey mais conhecida como Abadia de Westminster em português é das principais igrejas da Inglaterra, com um estilo gótico ficou famosa mundialmente por ser o local de coroação do Monarca do Reino Unido e por ser onde foi realizado o casamento do Príncipe William com Kate Middleton em 2011. Além disso é também o local de sepultura e de memorial para muitas figuras históricas como Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin e William Shakespeare.
A Abadia esta localizada ao lado do Parlamento e é de fácil acesso pelo metrô de Westminster. A entrada para visitação custa 18 libras para adultos e 8 libras para crianças e não é permitido fotografar ou filmar dentro da Abadia. Existem também as cerimonias religiosas diárias, onde não é cobrada entrada.
St. Paul’s Cathedral – Catedral de São Paulo
Outra igreja famosa de Londres é a Catedral de São Paulo, onde foi o casamento do Príncipe Charles com a Lady Diana. A cúpula da Catedral é considerada a segunda maior do mundo e tem uma beleza unica, assim como toda a construção.
Vale a pena a visita mas não é permitido tirar fotos no interior da Catedral. Para ir na Catedral você pode utilizar o metrô St. Paul’s e a entrada custa 16 libras para adultos e 7 para crianças. Assim como a Abadia de Westminster, existem cerimonias religiosas diárias, onde não é cobrada entrada.
ABBEY ROAD
A Abbey Road ou em português a Rua da Abadia é uma rua simples, onde se encontra o Abbey Road Studio, o famoso estúdio que gravou sucessos dos Beatles. Foi nesse rua também que foi tirada a famosa foto de capa dos Beatles atravessando a faixa de pedestre e até hoje quem visita a rua tenta recriar a foto ou pelo menos atravessar a famosa faixa de pedestre e deixar sua marca no muro do estúdio. Se você for fã dos Beatles e tiver um tempo livre, vale a pena a visita.
Você pode chegar na Abbey Road pela estação de metrô St John’s Wood, e cuidado pois existe também uma estação de metrô chamada Abbey Road, mas ela fica em outra região de Londres, muito distante da famosa rua dos Beatles.
Greenwich Park – Parque de Greenwich
O parque de Greenwich é um dos parques reais de Londres, onde se encontra o marco do Meridiano de Greenwich. Existe uma lenda sobre esse parque, que diz que em 1662, Carlos II passeava pelo parque com a rainha da Inglaterra Catarina de Bragança e Carlos II foi oferecer uma flor a Rainha, mas por engano acabou oferecendo a outra senhora que também passeava pelo parque. A rainha furiosa mandou arrancar todas as flores desse parque.
Na parte mais alta do parque se encontra o Observatório Real de Greenwich , que é o escritório central de pesquisas do Meridiano de Greenwich e o Museu Nacional Marítimo, que conta a história das guerras e operações nas quais a força naval britânica participou. Além de tirar a famosa foto no marco zero do meridiano de Greenwich, você ainda tem uma vista linda do parque e da cidade.
Para chegar no parque é só ir pela estação Cutty Sark, e andar duas quadras pela King Willian Walk e a entrada é gratuita.

Tower of London
Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress or The Tower of London is a historic monument located on the shore of the River Thames, opposite to Tower Bridge. The Tower of London was built by William the Conqueror as a fortress to protect the city. To visit the Tower of London is to visit more than 900 years of history, because besides being a fortress this building was once used as a palace, as a prison, as an arsenal and today holds the famous British Crown jewels. Its history has been marked from coronations of monarchs and royal treasures to murders and arsenals.

Westminster Abbey

ABBEY ROAD
Abbey Road is a simple street, where we find the Abbey Road Studio, the famous studio that recorded Beatles hits. It was in this street also that was taken the famous cover photo of The Beatles crossing the crosswalk and today many visitors still goes to this street to try to recreate the photo or at least cross the famous crosswalk and leave their mark on the studio wall. If you’re a Beatles fan and have some free time, it’s worth the visit.
You can get to the Abbey Road by St John’s Wood underground station but be careful because there is also a metro station called Abbey Road, that it is in another part of London, far away from the famous Abbey Road Studios street.
Greenwich Park
The Greenwich Park is one of the Royal Parks of London, where we find the mark of the Greenwich Meridian. There is a legend about this park, which says that in 1662, Charles II was walking through the park with the Queen of England, Catherine of Braganza and Charles II decided to offer a flower to the Queen, but accidentally he ended up offering a flower to another lady who was also walking through the park. The entrance to the park is free and you can get there by Cutty Sark underground station, after that just walk two blocks along King William Walk and you are there.

Fish & Chips
O prato mais famoso de Londres é o Fish & Chips, que é um peixe frito com batata frita acompanhados com um molho e com ervilhas ou purê de ervilha. Existem diversos restaurantes especializados em Fish & Chips por toda a cidade. Algumas pessoas amam essa comida e outras odeiam, mas se você gosta de experimentar a culinária local eu recomendo provar. Tradicionalmente esse prato era servido embrulhado em jornal, hoje em dia a maioria dos restaurantes servem em pratos normais, mas ainda existem alguns lugares que servem à moda antiga.
Strada
O Strada é um restaurante italiano com boa comida, várias opções no menu, ambiente agradável e bom atendimento. Existem algumas filias por Londres, mas eu recomendo que você visite a filial que fica perto da Tower Bridge, pois jantar com essa vista é sensacional. Nada melhor para um final de tarde, depois de muito passear pela cidade, que boa comida, bom vinho e uma vista maravilhosa da Tower Bridge toda iluminada à noite.

Nando’s
Esse é um dos restaurantes favoritos dos ingleses, o Nando’s um restaurante português especializado em frango e com uma dinâmica diferente dos outros restaurantes. Tem um clima super descontraído e o garçom não vai na mesa anotar o seu pedido, ele te acompanha até a sua mesa, entrega o menu e depois que você escolheu o que comer, você tem que ir no caixa, fazer o pedido e pagar. No cardápio você monta o prato do seu jeito, escolhe que tipo de frango quer, qual o tipo de pão caso escolha sanduíche, os acompanhamentos e o molho. É um restaurante bem diferente e a comida é excelente, vale muito a pena a visita.
Frankie & Bennys
Esse é um restaurante ótimo para um Happy hour ou uma parada rápida para almoço no centro de Londres. O Frankie & Bennys tem um menu super diversificado, um atendimento bem rápido e a comida é muito boa também. Existe várias filiais na cidade, eu fui na filial da Trafagal Square, que apesar de pequena é super agradável.
Miller & Carter
O Miller & Carter é uma Steakhouse, não fica no centro de Londres, mas se você é do tipo que gosta de steak, esse é o seu lugar. Ele possui vários tipos de carnes, que são muito bem feitas. Você escolhe a carne, o tamanho, como quer o cozimento, os acompanhamentos e os molhos. Para o molho da salada eu super recomendo o molho com blue cheese, é simplesmente divino. Vale a pena experimentar também os drinks, que são muito gostosos e acompanham muito bem as carnes.
Pepe Rosso
Se você estiver por Watford não pode deixar de ir no Pepe Rosso, um restaurante italiano, mas que tem opções de carnes e peixes no menu. Um clima aconchegante, ótimo preços e porções enormes. Com opções no estilo inglês, ou opções internacional e mais saudáveis.

Nando’s
This is one of the favorite restaurant for British people, Nando’s is a Portuguese restaurant specialized in chicken, that has a different dynamic from the other restaurants. Has a super relaxed atmosphere and the waiter won’t go to your table to take your order, he accompanies you to your table, hand the menu and then after you choose what to eat, you have to go to the cashier, place your order and pay. On the menu you mount the dish as you wish, choose what kind of chicken you want, what type of bread if you choose to have a sandwich, the side dishes and sauce. It’s a very different restaurant and the food is excellent, sure worth the visit.
Frankie & Bennys
This is a great restaurant for a happy hour or a quick stop for lunch in central London. Frankie & Bennys has a super diversified menu, a very quick service and the food is very good also. There are several branches in the city, I went to the one located at the Trafalgar Square, which despite being small is super nice.
Miller & Carter
Miller & Carter is a Steakhouse, it isn’t located in the center of London, but if you’re the type of person who likes steak, this is your place. They have many types of meats, which are very well made. You choose the meat, the size, how you would like to be cooked, the side dishes and sauces. For the salad dressing I recommend the sauce with blue cheese, because it is just amazing. Worth also to try the drinks that are very tasty and goes very well with the meat.
Pepe Rosso
If you are near Watford you should go to Pepe Rosso Restaurant, it is an Italian restaurant, but there are also meat and fish options on the menu. With a very cozy atmosphere, great prices and huge portions. There are options in English style, international or healthier options.

Um dos motivos que me fazer gostar de Londres é a quantidade de lugares interessantes para visitar sem gastar muito. Hoje eu vou falar sobre 5 lugares onde você pode ir sem ter que gastar nada, ou melhor a única coisa que você vai precisar é um bilhete do metrô.
A primeira dica de hoje é sobre o bilhete do metrô. O transporte público de Londres é ótimo, rápido e muito organizado, a melhor forma de se deslocar na cidade. Para passear por Londres e visitar os pontos turísticos é preciso usar o metrô/ônibus várias vezes por dia e a melhor opção é comprar o “one day travel ticket”, um bilhete especial que você pode usar durante todo o dia, em todos os transportes públicos.
Piccadilly circus
A Piccadilly circus é uma das mais famosas praças de Londres, localizada bem no centro da cidade cruzando as ruas mais movimentadas do centro. Os símbolos mais famosos dessa praça são: a estátua de Eros e os outdoors localizados em um prédio de esquina na Picadilly. Além disso, essa área é rodeada de várias atrações turísticas, restaurantes, bares e lojas famosas.
A melhor maneira de se chegar lá é de metrô, na estação chamada de Estação Piccadily Circus,
Big Ben
O Big Ben é um dos mais famosos símbolos da cidade e com certeza merece a visita para tirar uma foto. Fica em frente ao metrô de Westminster e pertinho da London Eye. Eu recomendo também visitar essa região durante a noite, acho que o Big Ben e a London Eye ficam ainda mais interessantes iluminados durante à noite.
Buckingham Palace
O Palácio de Buckingham também merece a visita para tirar fotos em um dos principais símbolos britânico e para ver a troca da guarda real, uma cerimónia que é usada como atracção turística (diariamente durante os meses de Verão; em dias alternados durante o inverno), acontece normalmente às 11:00/11:30. Na entrada do palácio tem um aviso informando o horário da troca da guarda e é também o horário mais cheio de turistas. Além de ser a residência da monarquia britânica, é também uma galeria de arte e uma atracção turística. Na primavera os jardins em torno do palácio ficam lindos cheio de flores. Eu já fui duas vezes para Londres, uma no outono e outra na primavera, sem dúvida eu gostei mais da primavera, pois além da temperatura estar bem mais agradável, as flores ao redor do palácio e nos parques deixavam a cidade ainda mais bonita.
Jardim do Palácio de Buckingham
Em frente ao Palácio fica o jardim do Palácio de Buckingham, que é semelhante a um parque, possui um lago, onde ficam os famosos cisnes da Rainha e vários outros animais fofos que ficam passeando livres pelo parque e interagindo com os turistas. Ótimo para uma pequena parada para tomar algo ou comer algo rápido nos quiosques e apreciar a paz desse lugar no meio da grande cidade.
Tower bridge
A Tower Bridge fica perto da Torre de Londres, sobre o rio Tâmisa. É é uma ponte-báscula, do tipo que levanta para passagem de navios. A Tower bridge é o meu lugar favorito em Londres para visitar a noite. Essa ponde tem uma estrutura bem diferente e bonita, mas acho que à noite ela fica ainda mais especial. A estação do metrô mais próxima é Tower Hill.

The Big Ben is one of the most famous symbols of the city and certainly worth a visit to take a picture. It is in front of the Westminster subway station and very close to the London Eye. I also recommend visiting this area during the night, I my opinion Big Ben and London Eye are even more interesting and beautiful illuminated at night.
Buckingham Palace
Buckingham Palace is also worth a visit to take pictures in one of the main British symbols and to see the changing of the guard, a ceremony that is used as a tourist attraction (daily during summer months; every other day during the winter), usually happens at 11: 00/11: 30. At the entrance of the palace there is a notice stating the time of the changing of the guard and it is also the time with more tourists around this area. Besides being the home of the British monarchy, it is also an art gallery and a tourist attraction. In the springtime the gardens around the palace are full of beautiful flowers. I’ve been to London twice, once in the fall and another in spring, no doubt I enjoy more during spring, because the weather were better and all the flowers around the palace and the parks made the city even more beautiful.
Buckingham Palace Garden
In front of the palace is located the garden of Buckingham Palace, which is similar to a park, has a lake, where are the famous Queen’s swans and several other cute animals that are walking free in the park and interacting with tourists. Great for a short break to drink something or eat something quick at the kiosks and enjoy the peace of this place in the middle of a big city.
Tower bridge
The Tower Bridge is located near the Tower of London on the River Thames. It is a weighbridge, the kind that raises for the passage of ships. The Tower Bridge is my favorite place in London to visit at night. This bridge has a very different and beautiful structure, for me it becomes even more special at night. The nearest subway station is Tower Hill.

As três mais famosas e mais visitadas atrações pagas em Londres são: London Eye, Madame Tussaud e o Sea Life Aquarium. A primeira dicas sobre essas atrações é comprar as entradas para as três atrações juntas, assim você economiza cerca de 30 libras e tem também acesso as filas rápidas na entrada das atrações e a segunda dica é comprar pela internet, pois além de não perder tempo nas filas para comprar os bilhetes, você economiza mais 5 libras. London Eye
Sem dúvida é a atração que você não pode deixar de visitar quando estiver em Londres. Além de ser um dos símbolos da cidades, o passeio nessa roda gigante tem uma das vistas mais bonitas da cidade. A volta completa na London Eye leva cerca de 30 minutos e fica ainda mais bonita quando o tempo não está nublado. Veja a previsão do tempo para os dias da sua viagem e deixe o melhor dia para fazer a sua visita nessa atração. A London Eye fica na margem do rio Tâmisa e está localizada bem próxima da estação de metro Westminister.
O museu de cera da Madame Tussaud existe em vários países e eu acho que vale sim pelo menos uma visita seja em qual cidade você preferir. É realmente impressionante como os bonecos de cera são feitos e como a maioria é quase idêntico aos famosos. Se você já visitou o Madame Tussaud em outro país e não tem tanto tempo em Londres talvez seja mais interessante visitar outros lugares. É claro que cada país vai exibir diferentes bonecos de cera, terão sempre os personagens mais famosos de cada região. Caso você nunca tenha visitado nenhum museu de cera antes eu recomendo a visita ao Madame Tussaud de Londres. Essa atração está sempre com muitos visitantes e para visitar todas as salas e ver todos os personagens você deve levar em torno de duas horas ou mais dependendo do movimento do dia e da sua vontade de tirar fotos com os famosos bonecos de cera. A atração da Madame Tussaud fica próxima a estação de metro Baker Street.
O grande aquário de Londres possui diversos animais marinhos interessante, vale a visita se você gostar de animais, se gostar de conhecer novas e diferentes espécies, se você tiver tempo disponível na sua viagem ou se você tiver for com crianças por que elas normalmente adoram. O que podemos ver no aquário são peixes, peixinhos e peixões, tubarões, cavalo-marinho; estrelas do mar que você pode colocar a mão, águas vivas que são maravilhosas, pingüins; crocodilo; os fofos peixes da família do Nemo e da Doris e muitos outros tipos. O Sea Life fica na margem do rio Tâmisa, pertinho da London Eye e próximo a estação do metro de Westminster.
London is a city full of life and attractions, with activities that will suit all kinds of tastes. You can visit many places and keep a full schedule or you can enjoy quiet days visiting peaceful places and just watching the rush lives of other people.
This is the first of a series of posts I’ll do about places to visit in London. Today I tell a little bit about the main paid attractions of the city.
The three most famous and most visited paid attractions in London are: London Eye, Madame Tussauds and the Sea Life Aquarium. The first tip about these attractions is to buy the tickets to all three attractions together, so you save around 30 pounds and also have access to the fast lines at the entrance of the attractions. The second tip is to buy online, besides not losing time in lines to buy tickets, you save another 5 pounds. This combination of the three tickets can be purchased at the entrance of any of those attractions or on the website below.

No doubt that this is the attraction that you can not miss when you are in London. Besides being a symbol of the city, the tour in this giant Ferris wheel have one of the most beautiful views of the city. The complete trip on the London Eye takes about 30 minutes and is even more beautiful when the weather is not cloudy. Check the weather forecast for the days of your trip and let the best day to make your visit at this attraction. The London Eye is at the shore of the River Thames and is located right next to the Westminster underground station.
The wax museum of Madame Tussaud exists in many countries and I think it is worth a visit at least one time at whatever city you prefer.It’s really amazing how the wax dolls are made and how most of them are nearly identical to the famous people. If you have visited the Madame Tussaud’s in another country and you won’t have so much time in London, might be more interesting to visit other places. Of course, each country will display different waxworks and will always have the most famous characters of each region. But if you have never visited any wax museum before I recommend a visit to Madame Tussaud’s in London. This attraction is always with many visitors and to visit all the rooms and see all the characters you must take around two hours or more depending on the movement of the day and your willingness to take pictures with all the famous wax dolls. The attraction of Madame Tussaud is near to Baker Street underground station.
The London Aquarium has a lot of interesting,sea animals, worth a visit if you like animals; if you like to meet new and different species; if you have some extra time on your trip or if you are with children because they usually love it. What we see in the aquarium are all types and sizes of fishes; sharks; seahorses; starfish that you can put your hand on; jellyfish that are wonderful; penguins; crocodile; the cute fish Nemo and Doris and many other types. The sea life is on the shore of the River Thames, very close to the London Eye and near the Westminster underground station.

Porém pode parecer um pouco confuso à primeira vista devido a quantidade de linhas e conexões. É muito útil ter um mapa do metro sempre à mão para não se perder e não perder tempo na sua viagem. Com o Tube Map além de ter o mapa do metro no seu celular, fica muito mais fácil de achar qual linha ou conexão você tem que pegar para chegar no seu destino. O aplicativo faz a rota pra você e indica rotas simples ou rápidas.
Ulmon London Esse aplicativo é um guia de Londres, com dicas de hotéis, lugares, restaurantes, lojas, entretenimento entre outros. Possui também um mapa e te indica as rotas de como chegar nos lugares desejados. Ulmon tem versões para outras cidades também como Madrid e Paris.
Time out Com o Time Out você fica por dentro de tudo que está acontecendo na cidade. Ele informa sobre todos os tipos de eventos que estão acontecendo em Londres. Conta sobre os shows e festivais, sobre estréias de filmes, peças e musicais, mostra o que vai rolar de bom nas boates e na badalada noite de Londres e muitas outras atrações e opções para todos os gostos.
London offiline Map and Guide Essa aplicativo também é um guia sobre a cidade de Londres, mas o que eu acho bacana nele é que além dar dicas de lugares para visitar, você também pode montar o seu próprio guia com os lugares que pretende visitar nos dias que tem disponível pela cidade. Depois de montar o seu itinerário você tem uma mapa offiline mostrando as atrações e lugares que foram incluídos na sua rota.
Wifi fast connect hotspot locator Estar sempre conectado tem sido cada dia mais um prioridade mesmo em viagens e com esse aplicativo você vai encontrar a wifi mais próxima de onde estiver.
Táxi Apesar da grande quantidade dos famosos táxis pretos, conseguir um táxi na noite de Londres em bairros movimentados não é tão fácil como se imagina. Se você não tem o aplicativo ou número de alguma empresa de táxi pode acabar tendo uma experiência nada agradável, acredite eu já passei por uma situação assim. Por isso eu recomendo que você baixe um aplicativo como o Get taxi ou o Tap Black Taxi, pra terminar sua noite mais fácil, sem complicações ou demora.
