Review: Crowne Plaza Hotel  // New Delhi – India

Foi a minha primeira vez na rede de hotéis Crowne Plaza mas eu já tinha escutado e lido muito bem a respeito desses hotéis. Como a minha viagem para Nova Deli foi à trabalho, escolhemos esse hotel devido a sua localização e também pois já tinha recebidos boas indicações referente a hospedagem nesse hotel. Lembrando que este não é um publipost e expressa a minha visão pessoal com relação ao hotel.

Primeiras Impressões

As minhas primeiras impressões podem ser resumidas em duas palavras: segurança e gentileza.

Segurança nunca foi uma palavra que vinha na minha cabeça quando eu pensava na India antes de visitar o País, mas devido aos conflitos entre India e Palestina e o medo dos indianos em relação aos atentados terroristas é muito comum encontrar segurança, policiais, detector de metais e equipamento de raio X em lugares fechados e movimentados, como shoppings e hotéis. Para entrar no hotel, todos os carros e taxis devem ser revistados, o porta-mala e o capô devem ser abertos e um espelho para inspeção veicular é utilizado para verificar a parte inferior dos veículos. E antes da área da recepção, existe uma saleta com detector de metais e aparelho raio-x, como os que passamos no aeroporto.

E gentileza também pode definir toda a minha estadia no hotel, todos os funcionários foram sempre muito simpáticos e gentis. Logo na chegada, além do recepcionista que fez o nosso check-in, havia uma funcionária responsável por anotar as nossas preferências em relação a tudo que envolvia o hotel, preferência dos quartos, das atividades dos hotel, de alimentação ( se tinhamos alguma alergia ou que tipo de comida mais gostávamos) e essa pessoa nos deu o seu número de telefone para caso precisarmos de qualquer informação ou atendimento especial. Fora toda essa atenção na recepção, eles também oferecem um Chai Indiano com biscoitos, levado no seu quarto, como boas vindas.

Quarto

O quarto era exatamente como nas fotos do site do hotel, do tipo que te surpreende positivamente e não ao contrário como acontece muitas vezes com as fotos super produzidas de muitos hotéis. Achei tudo muito limpo, espaçoso e confortável. Com uma cama cheia de travesseiros do jeito que eu gosto e com um banheira para relaxar após um longo dia de trabalho ou passeio em Nova Deli.

      

Nos quartos haviam também 3-4 garrafinhas de água, que eram repostas todos os dias, já que não é recomendado nem escovar os dentes com a agua da torneira.

     

Café da manhã

Café da manhã de hotel é uma das minhas coisas favoritas da vida, mas confesso dessa vez eu fui surpreendida negativamente. Apesar de ter várias opções de comidas, a maioria eram típicas comidas indianas, como arroz e macarrão com especiarias e isso nem um pouco me agrada como uma refeição para começar o dia. Eu até provei algumas comidas diferentes mas acabei não comendo muito, na maioria dos dias o meu café da manhã era: chá, cereais e um croissant.

  

Restaurantes

Existiam duas opções de restaurantes dentro do hotel: o restaurante do próprio hotel, o Mosaic, e um restaurante italiano/asiático, o Chao Bella. O Mosaic fica na mesma área do café da manhã e os clientes do hotel podem almoçar e jantar lá sem pagar nenhum valor extra. Eles oferecem uma culinária mais Indiana, com algumas opções internacionais. Existem uma área de buffet self-service ou você pode escolher alguma opção do menu a la carte.

O Chao Bella é um restaurante que serve pasta no estilo italiano e também no estilo asiático, como yakisoba. Tem uma decoração bonita e duas áreas, uma aberta e uma fechada. É uma ótima opção também para tomar uns drinks ou comer alguma sobremesas. Eu preferi o Chao Bela ao restaurante do hotel, pois os pratos eram mais leves nas misturas de temperos e especiarias, assim nos dias que jantei no hotel acabei optando com esse restaurante.

  

Serviço de Quarto 

Eu usei o serviço de quarto em um dia que estava cansada demais para descer para o restaurante para jantar e queria algo mais rápido para comer e descansar. Optei por mini hamburger e fritas, que estavam deliciosos e suficiente para a minha fome. O serviço foi rápido e muito atencioso pelos funcionários que me atender pelo telefone e no quarto. Mas o que eu mais gostei foi essa apresentação fofa do prato com mini potinhos com molhos.

Instalações  

O hotel possui uma boa área de academia e uma bela piscina, mas eu infelizmente não tive tempo de aproveitar essas instalações durante a minha estadia.

Mas uma instalação que eu pude aproveitar foi o spa, onde outra vez fomos muito bem recebidos, com um chá relaxante e uma toalhinha umedecida. Fizemos uma Thai massage que foi maravilhosa, e foi toda uma experiência, com a decoração, os aromas, música, massagem e no final a sauna. Super recomendo para relaxar depois de um dia cansativo.

   

Localização 

A localização do hotel foi perfeita para o que eu queria, que era estar perto do área de exposições, onde teria que visitar na maioria dos dias. Fica um pouco longe do centro, porém eles também possuem uma filial que fica mais próxima ao centro da cidade, para quem for a cidade apenas para turismo.

O Veredito Final

No geral eu adorei o hotel e tive uma boa estadia, a única coisa que não me agradou muito foi o café da manhã e opções de comida, mas isso é uma questão da comida indiana não ser um tipo de culinária que me agrada, não é algo do hotel. Super recomendo o Crowne Plaza de Nova Deli e com certeza ficaria hospedada lá outras vezes.

Review: Crowne Plaza Hotel  // New Delhi – India

It was my first time in the hotel chain Crowne Plaza but I had heard and read so many good reviews about these hotels. As my trip to New Delhi was more for work then for tourism, we chose this hotel because of its location and also because we had received good recommendations from friends that had stayed there before. Please note that this is not a publipost and it express my personal view regarding the hotel.

First impressions

My first impressions can be summarized in two words: security and kindness.

Security has never been a word that came into my mind when I thought about India before visiting the country, but due to conflicts between India and Palestine and the fear that Indians have in relation to terrorist attacks,  is very common to find security, police, metal detector and X-ray equipment in closed and crowded places such as shopping malls and hotels. To enter the hotel, all the cars and taxis should be searched, the trunk and hood must be opened and a mirror for vehicle inspection is used to check the bottom of the car. And before the reception area, there is a small room with metal detector and x-ray equipment, as the ones we have to go through at the airport.

Kindness can also define my stay at this hotel, all staff were always very friendly and kind. When we arrived, besides the receptionist who made our check-in there was a person responsible for noting our preferences about everything involving the hotel, preference of the rooms, activities of the hotel, food (if we had any allergies or what kind of food we liked) and that person gave us her phone number in case we need any information or special care. Besides all the attention at the reception, they also offer an Indian Chai with cookies, brought in your room as a welcome treat.

The Room

The room was exactly as the hotel website photos, the kind that surprises you positively and not the other way around as often happens with super produced pictures from many hotels website. I found that everything was very clean, spacious and comfortable. With a bed full of pillows just the way I like and with a tub for relaxing after a long day of work or sightseeing in New Delhi.

      

The room also had 3-4 bottles of water, and new ones were supplied every day, as it isn’t recommended to drink or to even brush your teeth with tap water.

     

Breakfast

Hotel breakfast is one of my favorite things in life, but I have to say that this time I was negatively surprised. Despite having several choices of foods, most were typical Indian food like rice and pasta with spices and this this is really not the type of meal I like to start my day. I even tasted some different foods but I ended up not eating much, most days my breakfast was: tea, cereal and a croissant.

  

Restaurants

There were two choices of restaurants inside the hotel: the hotel’s own restaurant, the Mosaic, and an Italian / Asian restaurant, Chao Bella. The Mosaic is in the same area where the breakfast is served and hotel guests can have lunch and dinner there without paying any extra. They offer mostly Indian cuisine with some international options. There are an area of self-service buffet or you can choose any option from the la carte menu.

The Chao Bella is a restaurant that serves pasta in Italian style and also in the Asian style, like noodles. It has a lovely decor and two areas, one open and one closed. It is also a great option to have some drinks or eat some desserts. I preferred the Chao Bela restaurant because comparing to the Mosaic the dishes had a lighter mixtures of spices, so I ended up choosing this restaurant for my dinners at the hotel.

  

Room Service

I used the room service on a day that I was too tired to go down to the restaurant for dinner. I wanted something fast to eat and just rest later. I chose mini hamburger and fries, which were delicious and just enough for my hunger. The service was fast and attentive by both employees, the one who answer me on the phone and the other that brought me dinner in the room. But what I liked the most was this cute presentation of the dish with mini pots with sauces.

Facilities 

The hotel has a good gym facility and a beautiful pool, but unfortanetely I did not have time to enjoy these facilities during my stay.

But a facility that I could enjoy was the spa, again we were very well welcomed, with a relaxing tea and a moistened towel. We had a Thai massage which was wonderful. It was a whole experience with the decor, aromas, music, massage and sauna in the end. Super recommend to relax after a tiring day.

Location 

The hotel’s location was perfect for what we wanted, which was to be near the exhibition area, where we would have to visit most of the days. It is a bit far from downtown, but they also have a branch that is near to the city center, for those that are in New Delhi only for tourism.

The Final verdict

Overall I loved the hotel and had a good time, the only thing I didn’t like very much was the breakfast and food options, but this is a matter of Indian food being not a type of cuisine that pleases me. I really recommend the Crowne Plaza New Delhi and certainly would to stay there again.
