Dubai : Primeiras impressões

Eu confesso que Dubai nunca esteve no topo da lista de lugares que eu queria conhecer e eu também nunca senti aquele desejo forte de conhecer esse lugar como eu sinto por muitas outras cidades que fazem parte da minha Bucket List, mas devo admitir que Dubai conseguiu me surpreender positivamente e me encantou à primeira vista com todas as possibilidades que essa cidade tem a oferecer.

O Visto

O visto para os Emirados Árabes Unidos é um pouco diferente da maioria dos vistos, pois não pode ser feito através da Embaixada/Consulado ou através de algum processo online. É necessário tem um “Sponsor”, um patrocinador que seja responsável pela sua estadia na cidade. Mas apesar de parecer complicado à primeira vista, o processo para obter o visto é bem tranquilo e rápido e existem alguns tipos diferentes de sponsor que você pode escolher como eu expliquei melhor no post sobre o Visto: Dubai.

O Aeroporto Internacional de Dubai

O aeroporto de Dubai é muito grande, do tipo que dá para se perder ou perder a noção do tempo entre tantas lojinhas, lanchonetes e restaurantes, além de ter uma bela decoração e até mesmo palmeiras enfeitando a sala de embarque.

Já no desembarque a gente consegue sentir um pouco do clima da cidade, onde você consegue facilmente encontrar de tudo. Uma enorme variedade de lojas, além dos clássicos produtos de free shop, de cosméticos a eletrônicos, souvenirs, dos mais comuns e baratos até os mais extravagantes e caros, farmácias, muitos restaurantes, cafés e lanchonetes para todos os gostos e até um hotel, para aqueles viajantes que tem muitas horas de conexão, poderem descansar um pouco com conforto.

É o tipo de aeroporto que vale a pena se programar e chegar com mais tempo de antecedência para poder conhecer melhor, para fazer comprinhas de última hora ou apenas para relaxar um pouco antes do vôo.

Transporte 

Se locomover por Dubai é muito fácil, os transportes públicos são muito seguros, confortáveis, possuem fácil acesso e te levam para grande parte das áreas turísticas da cidade, além de serem super bem sinalizados com todas as informações disponíveis em inglês. Mas se você preferir andar de taxi existem uma enorme disponibilidade de taxistas por toda parte, achei a tarifa um pouco cara mas todos os motoristas que eu peguei foram muitos educados e simpáticos. Outra opção é alugar um carro, muitos turistas optam por alugar um carro quando querem ir visitar cidades próximas de Dubai,  o valor do aluguel não é muito caro e dirigir na cidade é muito tranquilo, pois todas as áreas são muito bem sinalizadas e as ruas e avenidas muito bem estruturadas.

O Hotel  

Ahh, os hotéis de Dubai… São puro luxo, poder e ostentação. Eu não passei por nenhum hotel que não fosse no mínimo muito bem decorado. Eles são sempre grandes, elegantes, com belos designs, mas por outro lado isso tudo tem um preço, e as diárias acabam sendo bem salgadas.

A Cidade

Dubai é simplesmente uma cidade muito rica… não apenas pela quantidade de dinheiro de circula por lá, mas também rica de coisas para se fazer, atividades que agradam todos os gostos, para os mais calmos aos mais aventureiros, para ir sozinho our levar a família. A única coisa que pode ser desagradável na cidade é o calor, dependendo da estacão do ano é impossível ficar andando na rua por muito tempo, pois as temperaturas são muito elevadas e é por isso que em todos os lugares há ar condicionado, inclusive nos pontos de ônibus.

A culinária  

Algo que você não precisa se preocupar é com a culinária, pois a gente consegue encontrar restaurantes típicos de todos os países e culturas, inclusive vários restaurantes brasileiros. Tenho ótimas dicas de restaurantes que vou contar em um próximo post.

Os Locais  

Dubai é uma cidade muito internacional, muitos estrangeiros não apenas visitam a cidades todos os dias mas também moram lá, devido a grande quantidades de empresas multinacionais que possuem filias nessa região. A gente encontra muita gente religiosa, mulheres cobertas, mas ao mesmo tempo muitos turistas de short e camiseta, e todo mundo convivi muito bem, sem julgamento ou preconceito. Não posso reclamar das pessoas com quem encontrei e nem de nada que presenciei, foram todos sempre muito educados, simpáticos, e com muito respeito.

O que eu achei

E amei Dubai, com certeza voltarei quando tiver uma oportunidade pois ainda tem várias coisas que quero fazer e lugares que espero visitar por lá. Eu até moraria lá por alguma temporada, porém não é uma cidade que poderia viver para sempre devido apenas ao clima ser demasiadamente quente na maior parte do ano, não que eu não goste de calor, eu adoro, mas eu também adoro fazer atividades ao ar livre e durante muitos meses do ano o calor é tanto que fica bem difícil ficar muito tempo fora do ar condicionado.

Dubai: First impressions

I confess that Dubai was never on top of my bucket list and I also never felt that strong desire to visit this city as I feel for most of the other cities on my travel list, but I must admit that Dubai could positively surprised me and delighted me at first sight with all the possibilities that this city has to offer.

Visa

The visa for the United Arab Emirates is a little different from most types of visas because it can’t be done through the Embassy / Consulate or through some online process. You must have a “Sponsor”, someone who is responsible for your stay in the city. But although it seems complicated at first sight, the process of getting Dubai visa is quite easy and fast and there are a few different types of sponsor you can choose as I explained better in the post: Visa: Dubai.

Dubai International  Airport

Dubai airport is huge, the kind of place where you can get lost or lose track of time among so many stores, coffee shops and restaurants. There is a beautiful decoration and there are even palm trees decorating the departure gate. At the arrival you can already start feeling the city, a place where you can easily find everything you wish. A wide range of shops, in addition to the classic free shop products, from electronics to cosmetics, souvenirs, from the most common and cheap to the most extravagant and expensive, pharmacy, many restaurants, cafes and snack bars to suit all tastes and even a hotel, for those travelers who need a comfortable place to rest between long connections.

It’s the kind of airport that’s worth if can you plan to arrive with some more extra time in order to get to know it better, to do some last minute shopping or just to relax a bit before the flight.

Transport

To get around in Dubai is very easy, the public transports are very safe, comfortable, easily accessible, take you to most of the tourist areas and are very well marked with all information you may need in English. But if you prefer to use a taxi there are a huge availability of taxi drivers in the city, I found their rates a little expensive but all drivers were polite and friendly. Another option is to rent a car, many tourists choose to rent a car when they want to visit near cities, because rental cars are not too expensive and driving in the city is very easy because all places are well signalized and the road well structured.

Hotel

Ahh the hotels in Dubai … are pure luxury, power and glitz. I haven’t been through one hotel there that wasn’t at least very nicely decorated. They are always big, elegant, with beautiful designs, but for sure all of that comes with a price, and the daily rooms rates are very salty.

The City

Dubai is simply a very rich city … not only by the amount of money that circulates there, but also rich in things to do, activities that please all tastes, for the most peaceful to the more adventurous, to go alone our to take family. The only thing that can be unpleasant in the city is the heat, because depending on the season is impossible to be walking down the street for too long, the temperatures are really high and that is why everywhere you will find an air conditioner, even on the bus stop.

The cuisine

Something you will not need to worry about is the food, because you can easily find all types of cuisines, typical restaurants of all countries and cultures, including several Brazilian restaurants. I have great tips of restaurants that will be sharing in the next post.

Local people

 

Dubai is a very international city, many foreigners not only visit this city every day but also live there, due to large amounts of multinational companies with affiliates in the region. We find a lot of religious people, women covered, but at the same many tourists using shorts and tops, and everyone interacting very well, without judgment or prejudice. I can not complain about the people I’ve met or about anything I have witnessed, they were all very polite, friendly, and treated me with great respect.

What I think about Dubai?

 

I loved Dubai and for sure I will come back when I have a chance because there is a lot of things I still want to do and places I hope to visit there. I even would accept to live there for a season, but it isn’t a city that could live forever, only because of the weather being too hot most of the year, not that I do not like the heat, I love it, but I also love doing outdoor activities and for several months of the year the heat is so much that is very difficult stay too long outside.
