No Ano passado eu comemorei o final de semana do meu aniversário esquiando no Monte Argeu (Erciyes Dağı em turco) que fica localizado na cidade de Kayseri, na região da Capadócia. Chegamos pelo aeroporto de Kayseri e alugamos uma carro para ir até o nosso hotel no Monte Argeu, que fica a cerca de 25 km de distância do aeroporto.
Ficamos no hotel Mirada del lago e como não estava em alta temporada, nem o hotel e nem as pistas de esqui estavam cheias, deu para aproveitar tudo sem pressa e sem filas. Os hotéis da região são quase todos no estilo resort de esqui, com café da manhã, almoço e jantar inclusos na diária. Chegamos no hotel na sexta à noite, depois do horário do jantar mas ainda tinham disponíveis sopas, sanduíches e bebidas quentes para os hóspedes que chegavam mais tarde e com frio.
No dia seguinte alugamos o material para esquiar, fizemos um pacote com na loja de esqui do hotel com as roupas, os equipamentos para esquiar, algumas horas de aula de esqui e ingresso para estação de esqui. Eu já tinha esquiado uma vez antes mas fazia bastante tempo. Os equipamentos e as aulas também podem ser alugados ou comprados na estação de esqui onde existem diversas lojas do tipo .
Nem todos as pistas de esqui estavam em funcionamento pois não estava em alta temporada e algumas pistas de nível avançado também estavam fechadas devido ao tempo. Mas as pistas de nível iniciante e intermediário já estavam de bom tamanho para mim.
Voltamos para o hotel às 13hrs para almoçar e descansar um pouco e passamos o resto da tarde esquiando até a pista de esqui fechar. Depois aproveitamos a piscina aquecida do hotel para relaxar antes do jantar e finalizamos à noite com vinho em frente a lareira. Não existem muitos restaurantes ou muitas opções para sair perto dos hotéis e da estação de esqui, por isso a melhor pedida é ficar no hotel mesmo descansando e aproveitando as atividades que o seu hotel proporciona.
No domingo saímos para tirar algumas fotos perto do hotel e depois seguimos para Kayseri. Almoçamos no restaurante Taş Mekan no caminho para a cidade, que é um restaurante especializado em comida turca, com pratos deliciosos e muito bem servidos. Em seguida fomos para o centro de Kayseri e compramos algumas comidas típicas da região. A cidade não tem muitas atrações turísticas, mas acaba recebendo muitos turistas de passagem para Capadócia. Kayseri é considerada uma das mais conservadoras cidades da Turquia e realmente não recomendo que perca muito tempo se hospedando por lá.
Como tínhamos um tempo antes de ir para ao aeroporto fomos conhecer um café/restaurante famoso em Kayseri que possui uma vista linda da cidade. O Seyir Cafe & Restaurant, possui um ambiente bem aconchegante e agradável e estava cheio de casais naquela tarde fria de inverno. O tiramisu e o chocolate quente também estavam uma delicia.

Follow me to…. Erciyes Dağı
Last year I celebrated the weekend of my birthday skiing on Mount Erciyes (Erciyes Dağı in Turkish) which is located in Kayseri, on the Cappadocia region. We arrived at Kayseri airport and rented a car to go to our hotel in Monte Argeu, which is about 25 km away from the airport.
We stayed at the hotel Mirada del lago and as it was not high season, neither the hotel nor the ski station were crowded, I was able to enjoy everything without hurry and without queues. Almost every hotels in the area are like winter resort style, with breakfast, lunch and dinner included in the rate. We arrived at the hotel on Friday night, after dinner time but there were still available some soups, sandwiches and hot drinks to the guests who arrived late and feeling cold.
The next day we rented the equipment for skiing, made a package at the store in the hotel with the clothes, ski equipment, a few hours of skiing lesson and tickets for the ski station. I tried skiing before but was a long time ago that’s why I also bought a few hours of ski lessons. Equipments and lessons can also be rented or purchased in the ski station where there are many shops like that.
Not all ski tracks were in operation because it was not high season yet and some of the advanced level tracks were also closed due to the weather. But the beginner and intermediate level tracks were great for me.
We returned to the hotel around 13hrs for lunch, had some rest and spent the rest of the afternoon skiing until the ski track was closed. After enjoying as much as possible the ski day we went to the warm swimming pool to relax before dinner and we finished the evening with wine in front of the fireplace. There are not many restaurants or many options to go out near the hotels and the ski station, so the best choice is to stay in the hotel resting and enjoying the activities and facilities that your hotel provide.
On Sunday we went out to take some pictures near the hotel and then we went to Kayseri. We had lunch in a restaurant called Taş Mekan on the way to the city, which is a restaurant specialized in Turkish food. All was delicious and very well served. Then we went to the center of Kayseri to buy some typical regional food. The city doesn’t have many tourist attractions, but ends up getting many tourists that are going to Cappadocia. Kayseri is considered one of the most conservative cities in Turkey and I really don’t recommend that you spend too much time staying there.
As we had some time before heading to the airport we went to visit a famous cafe / restaurant in Kayseri which has a beautiful view of the city. The Seyir Cafe & Restaurant has a very cozy and pleasant atmosphere and was full of couples on that cold winter afternoon. The tiramisu and the hot chocolate were also very yummy.
